Zülpich Museum of Bathing Culture

The Roman thermals in Zülpich invite you to travel in time through 2000 years of bathing culture. The centrepiece of the museum is original Roman thermal baths, a field monument of national importance. The thermals from the 2nd Century are the best preserved sites of its kind north of the Alps.

The museum shows remains of the Roman bathing rooms, Middle Age hygiene rituals, the first washbasins and toilets, strange inventions such as a bathing ship and rocking bathtub and the beginnings of bathing tourism.

The scented wall gives the impression of former smells and a table to play at invites you and your children to try out ancient games. A comic book shows your children Roman history via multi media.
