Hellenthal Wildlife Park and birds of prey compound

The Hellenthal Wildlife Park lies high above the Oleftalsperre with one of the most important birds of prey compounds in Europe. Numerous indigenous kinds of wildlife such as red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, wild sheep, wild boars, lynx and many more show themselves in their natural grace and beauty. Large animal compounds are mixed with connecting gates where you can experience and feed the wild animals without disturbing fences. Young visitors love the petting zoo with rabbits, guinea pigs, hens, goats and geese and also a romp on the playground. Even fathers are reminded of childhood dreams when visiting the small Indian village.

The birds of prey compound is in the centre of the wildlife park with its impressive flight show, which is an unforgettable experience. Proud eagles turn themselves in the high thermals and when the falconer calls, land with a racing nosedive onto his hand. In addition the hawks and owls excite with their show, and also the many young birds in the spring.

Experience the majestic birds close up. Under the guidance of a falconer you can take a bird of prey in your own hands.
