Archaeological Monuments

The North Eifel excels through a variety of archaeological monuments. Especially numerous are the remains from Roman times such as estates and villas, fortresses, sacred sites and exposed parts of the Roman Canal that supplied Cologne with mineral water from the Eifel.

More than 200 events during the action time Roman Rhineland 2014 take you on a journey into the past. Numerous events and programmes invite you to take an active part in  “travelling like the Romans” “ a visit to the temple” “living in Vicus” “Roman sentries on guard” or “researching like an archaeologist”.
