Adventure region North Eifel

Submerge yourself into another world. Whether it is for a day or your whole holiday: not far away from the large towns on the Rhine, the North Eifel offers infinite opportunities to leave the daily routine behind you. This is made possible through plenty of nature, special treasures and the cleanest air nationwide.

Nearby. Far away. The North  Eifel. You’ll get to feel it.

You can write your own time-out script. Would you like to explore the narrow wilderness trails of the future? Spend a heavenly day under palm trees? Appreciate the North Eifel from above with a tandem jump? Or just simply let it all hang out through shopping in a picturesque atmosphere?  Go for it: our hosts and rangers, our museum directors and shop owners, travelling companions and tour guides, not forgetting to mention our farmers, butchers and bakers have quite a lot prepared for you.

The moving past of the North Eifel makes it possible to experience the Romans, the Middle Ages and industrialisation all within a small area. Even if it sounds slightly exaggerated, we make journeys using a time machine absolutely possible. Apart from the well-known classics such as the LVR Kommern Open-Air Museum or the Steinfeld monastery, you are in for a special surprise with the unknown treasures and gems.

In the Eifel National Park, the primeval forest of the future, the rangers can tell you amazing stories of flora and fauna. The North Eifel however has much more on offer than the National Park as hikers on the Eifelsteig, Ahrsteig, and the Roman Canal Hiking trail know well, or also on various other themed trails. This is also true for those with smaller feet. For example on the Eifel Milk trail, the Moor Trail and the Dandelion Adventure Trail one surprise comes follows the other.

Cyclists find perfect starting points for their tours at 19 cycle and hike railway stations. For those of you who are more easy-going there are river cycle trails or flat plains in the north to choose from. Or even easier by renting a pedelec (pedal-assisted bikes) with built-in tail wind. The more athletic cyclists can conquer the hill stages of the Eifel-Hill trail, or master the spanking new MTB trail network “Free-ride” by mountain bike.

Our hosts make sure that you can lean back and relax in between. Enjoy yourselves and have a good time here with us.
